Meet Drew Frame, our Head of Procurement , as he shares the project he’s most proud of and the one role he’d love to swap into for a day!
What’s your role, and what does a typical day look like for you?
I’m the Head of Procurement, and I’ve been part of NHC Procurement for nine years. My role centres on supporting the procurement team in the development, delivery, and ongoing management of our portfolio of solutions. I also work closely with the team to ensure we’re providing the highest level of support to our members.
A typical day is wonderfully varied. It usually includes a mix of strategic discussions with colleagues, conversations with our members to understand their evolving needs, and engagement with suppliers and potential partners. These interactions help shape the direction of our frameworks and ensure we remain responsive, forward-thinking, and aligned with the wider goals of the organisation.
What’s one project you’re really proud of?
One project I’m particularly proud of is the most recent iteration of our Technology Enabled Lives framework. This is one of our longest standing solution areas, but the landscape around telecare and telehealth is changing rapidly – especially with the analogue to digital switchover and the emergence of innovative technologies.
Being able to procure a solution that is both future-proof and grounded in the immediate needs of our members has been incredibly rewarding. It reflects a balance of strategic foresight and practical support, ensuring we’re helping members navigate today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities.
If you could swap jobs with anyone within the team for a day, who would it be and why?
I’d choose to step into the role of an Account Executive for a day. Spending time directly with members, hearing their challenges, questions, and priorities first-hand, would give me even deeper insight into how our solutions can evolve.
What’s one thing you think makes our team unique or strong?
Our greatest strength is the unity across the entire team. We work collaboratively, drawing on each person’s individual strengths and expertise to achieve shared goals. That collective approach ensures we deliver a consistently high-quality experience for our members and maintain a culture where everyone contributes to our success.
What three words would you use to describe working at NHC?
Great Team Effort
