What is the Protection, Security and Electrical Works Framework?

The Protection, Security and Electrical Works Framework is a national framework which provides housing associations, local authorities and other public sector organisations with a compliant and straightforward route to market. It is especially targeted towards organisations bound by public sector contract regulations.

There are certain regulations and requirements you must comply with to meet protection, security and electrical standards. These include the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 for protection, meeting security standards with certifications like BS3621 for locks on external doors and obtaining mandatory electrical safety checks to obtain an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).

This framework is live until July 2027 and you can access it through mini competition, direct award or ranked award.

Lot 2: Design, Manufacture, Supply and Maintenance of CCTV Systems, Door Entry and Access Control Systems, Intruder Alarms and Remote Monitoring

Across eight sub-lots, the Protection, Security and Electrical Works Framework covers the design, supply, installation and maintenance of CCTV and ANPR systems, door entry and access control systems and intruder alarm systems. It also includes the design, supply, installation, maintenance and remote monitoring of CCTV systems and intruder alarm systems.

Sub-Lot 2.8 is a fully managed service for CCTV, door entry, access control and intruder alarms.

Lot 3: Property and Site Safety and Security

Under Lot 3: Property and Site Safety and Security, the framework provides manned security services, mobile patrol services and walking watch services to enhance the safety of your tenants.

There is also a fully managed service in property, site safety and security. In the UK, property and site safety and security regulations are primarily governed by the Building Safety Act 2022.

Lot 4: Void Property Management

Lot 4: Void Property Management covers overseeing, securing and maintaining a rental property whilst unoccupied by a tenant.

The Lot includes void security and protection, void clearance and general cleaning, and void specialised cleaning as well as a void property management fully managed service so you can focus on finding the next tenant for your properties.

Lot 5: Electrical Works

Meeting a range of electrical safety standards is paramount to ensure the safety of your tenants in their home.

Lot 5 of the Protection, Security and Electrical Works Framework comprises PAT testing, fixed electrical testing, electrical condition surveys and inspection reports, and remedial work, including rewires, to ensure your property complies with three primary regulatory frameworks in the UK: BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), Part P of the Building Regulations (for domestic properties in England and Wales) and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (for any commercial and industrial environments).

Lot 6: Consultancy

As part of the Protection, Security and Electrical Works Framework, Lot 6: Consultancy provides a comprehensive service for CCTV systems, door entry and access control, and intruder alarms.

This allows landlords to maintain the safety of tenants in social housing.
