Social Impact
Making a difference today, for tomorrow.
We are part of Northern Housing Consortium – a not-for-profit membership organisation that supports unparalleled opportunities for networking, sharing best practice with industry peers, and representing the sector’s voice on a national stage.
With the team’s experience in public sector procurement, we support our members to surmount industry-wide challenges, and better housing, buildings, and communities.
The surplus from this procurement activity – £2.5 million over the last five years – is reinvested to represent members at a national level, drive change-making conversation, and influence policy on behalf of our membership. Our voice is leveraged on national stage to make a lasting impact for the sector.
This income has supported our colleagues to deliver:
Enabling keynote contributions to vital government consultations namely:
- 5-year rent settlement at CPI +1%
- Further ambition for 10-year rent settlement alongside convergence for lost rent revenues
- Sector representation of Awaab’s Law to support practical implementation
- Drive much needed revisions to right-to-buy programme
Vital contribution to government 2025 Spending Review, pushing government for:
- A long term ten-year Affordable Homes Programme (AHP)
- Introducing longer term funding with more local control and flexibility
- Giving local authorities the right resources to make a difference
- Supporting social housing’s role in making Britain a clean energy and economic superpower
