Retrofit Consultants
Are you looking for consultancy to support you on your retrofit journey?
Connecting you to a network of consultants to support you on your next project.
Retrofit solutions are important because they upgrade existing buildings and structures with modern, energy-efficient technology without the massive cost and waste of demolition.
From lowering utility bills and cutting carbon emissions to reducing environmental waste and improving indoor health and comfort, retrofit consultants implement solutions that help social landlords and public sector organisations to ensure housing, community buildings and other structures are safe for use and habitation by occupants.
At NHC Procurement, we understand that lower energy costs and secure housing is essential for comfortable living for your residents. That’s why we assist you with securing suppliers to complete a whole house retrofit and build long-lasting relationships for years to come.
This framework works alongside our Decarbonisation Retrofit Framework.
What is the Retrofit Consultants Framework?
The Retrofit Consultants Framework is designed to engage qualified and experienced suppliers for retrofit services, with roles including a retrofit coordinator, retrofit assessor, retrofit designer and retrofit evaluator.
The framework helps social landlords and public sector organisations procure PAS 2035-compliant whole-house retrofit and energy efficiency services.
PAS 2035 is the overarching British standard for the energy retrofit of domestic buildings. It is mandatory for some government funded projects to ensure aligned energy efficiency. This method of installing energy efficiency measures (EEMs) considers the needs of the entire building from a technical perspective as well as factors like occupancy comfort.
It covers comprehensive property assessments, coordinated project planning and risk management to prevent issues like damp, mould and poor ventilation.
At NHC Procurement, we understand that keeping your residents safe and secure in their home is critical, and we believe in the importance of care in the community.
Every person deserves to live comfortably and independently at home. Our suppliers work effectively to ensure all safety standards are met whilst retrofitting social housing to improve energy use and overall performance.
Our Retrofit solutions
At NHC Procurement, we offer a range of solutions to support public sector organisations with the procurement process, including both framework solutions and dynamic solutions.
The retrofit services offered by our trusted partners and suppliers are all delivered in line with PAS 2035 regulations. The whole house retrofit approach taken treats the home as a single, interconnected system so that changes, like adding insulation, are balanced with the correct ventilation.
Our retrofit solutions are designed to meet the requirements of each home and its occupants, ensuring a place of comfort and safety for your residents.
Each retrofit project includes a team of experts in specific roles who all play a critical role in the process.
Your next steps
-
Retrofit Coordinator
A retrofit coordinator manages the entire energy efficiency upgrade project to ensure standard compliance.
They oversee a home renovation project from start to finish, and in line with the PAS 2035 framework. to ensure that work is safe, high-quality and protects the interests of the homeowner.
-
Retrofit Assessor
A retrofit assessor inspects residential properties to evaluate their physical condition, energy rating and how residents use energy, as well as their overall occupancy.
They collect essential data and compile reports that a retrofit coordinator will use to plan safe and effective home energy improvements like insulation or heat pumps. These reports can include floor plans, photo evidence and written instructions for the wider team of retrofit consultants.
Not to be confused with a retrofit evaluator, the assessor reviews the home’s initial condition before work begins.
-
Retrofit Designer
A retrofit designer specialises in creating technical plans and specifications for improvements to domestic properties, upgrading these buildings to make them more energy efficient.
They analyse assessment data to choose the right mix of insulation, heating and ventilation systems whilst ensuring different upgrades work safely together without causing dampness or structural damage. It is also their responsibility to select specific materials, products and energy systems tailored to the exact building.
-
Retrofit Evaluator
A retrofit evaluator will monitor and assess the performance of a completed whole house retrofit project, or an energy-efficiency home renovation.
They check if installed measures like insulation or heating upgrades work as intended, identify any unintended issues like damp or poor ventilation and report findings to the project team.
