The new Procurement Act 2023 went live on February 24th, 2025. Our team is fully up to speed on the knowledge and understanding required to navigate the changes. Drew Frame, head of procurement at NHC Procurement, explores some of the myths about the new regulations – and what you need to know.

‘The new notices are complex and overwhelming.’

Some of the notices relate to existing regulations, and with our guidance you will soon be up to date on what is required. Post February 24, when we procure new solutions, we will be on-hand to support you through the process – start to finish! We are here to advise to help you navigate the any changes required under the new regulations.

‘We need to be legal, financial, and procurement experts.’

Not at all! Our team are expert and experienced procurement practitioners and have completed specialist training to help our members navigate the changes. We are here to help to ensure you are compliant and delivering the best products and services for your customers.

‘The changes only affect our procurement team.’

The new regulations are not just for procurement processes, and the changes that need to be implemented may affect your finance, operational, and commercial teams too. You will need to ensure that organisation-wide leadership teams are in the loop, to support their teams moving forward.

‘The changes will happen overnight.’

Our current frameworks and DPS solutions are compliant until the contract end date, bound by Public Contract Regulations 2015. The changes will be gradual, and you will have time to adapt to new processes.

‘We need to have it all figured out.’

This is where we come in! Working with a procurement provider can support your team to adapt to the changes. We have a team of expert practitioners who can take on a significant amount of the work, giving you peace of mind that everything is in hand.
